What inspired you to decide to become a chef, recipe developer, blogger and caterer?
- Delicious, wholesome food is seasonal, free of artificial garbage, and IS NOT found in a box.
- Simple means starting with fresh ingredients, and highlighting their natural flavor with sensible cooking options like grilling, roasting, baking, broiling, or sautéing. Frying is my least favorite cooking method. I think it just takes away from the freshness of the food.
- Delicious and nutritious are not mutually exclusive words! I’m all about indulging once in a while, after all, life is too short to not have a little fun. But you can also eat sensibly and make amazing tasting food, I do it all the time! It’s all about familiarizing yourself with basic cooking techniques and ingredient pairings. Believe it or not, I’m a self-taught cook who learned a lot by watching the Food Network, and reading cookbooks. Educate yourself about cooking just like you would any other subject, and then get out there and try it! Practice makes perfect, in all things.
